Value increase, maintenance and care
The use of the robust and resistant Bergische Greywacke as building material is a timeless purchase for decades. And last but not least a long-lasting investment with added value, because in addition to the low maintenance costs and the long service life, the Bergische greywacke convinces with increasing beauty over the years. As a result of environmental influences and use, the natural stone acquires patina over time, a unique coating. While other materials are becoming increasingly unsightly and even need to be replaced, the Bergische Grauwacke is gaining more and more character.
Ecological building and conservation
As a naturally grown raw material, the Bergische Greywacke is an almost finished product that does not need any energy to produce. Although electricity, water, diesel and gas are needed for extraction and further processing, this factor is significantly lower than the energy required to produce artificial building materials. The Bergische Greywacke contains no pollutants or dangerous substances. It does not generate any emissions. Therefore, it is suitable as a building material not only for outdoor use, but also ideal for indoor use – such as kitchen worktops, floor coverings, wall coverings, shower trays etc. In addition, the Bergische Greywacke is always close to the customer as a local stone, which makes long polluting transports superfluous.
